Thirsty Thursday, night market, corn hole and more things to do this weekend

“Thirsty Thursday” at the Wild Detectives features three short plays and a drinking game from House Party Theater. On Friday at 7 p.m., White Rock Zine Machine launches its fifth series of zines. And Saturday at 10:30 a.m., it’s family story time with “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.”

The Commerce Street Night Market is from 6-10 p.m. Friday.

The Dash for the Beads committee hosts a corn hole tournament to raise money for James S. Hogg Elementary School. The tournament, from 7-10 p.m. Friday, June 28, at BBBop, costs $50 per team to enter. Top prize is $500 in gift certificates to Oak Cliff restaurants.

Charley Crockett performs at the Kessler Saturday. Michelle Branch performs Friday.

CocoAndre Chocolatier offers a parent/kid chocolate class Saturday from 11 a.m.-noon.

Actor Michael Rapaport records his podcast “I Am Rapaport” live at the Texas Theatre Saturday.
