Kevin Kidd, 28, Emmanuel Kilpatrick, 31, and Jermon Simmons, 35, are charged with capital murder in the March 11 death of 30-year-old Liza Marie Saenz.

Boaters on the Trinity River found Saenz’s body. Police believe she was shot multiple times on the river banks and her body dumped into the Trinity.

An anonymous tip led police to Kidd, who was already in jail. Kidd admitted to driving a car that was caught on surveillance video approaching Saenz. Kidd told police that Kilpatrick and Simmons forced Saenz to the river banks at gunpoint. He pointed to Kilpatrick as the shooter.

Kidd, Kilpatrick, Simmons and a fourth suspect, Joy Tiara Gray, also are accused in the murder and robbery of three other people following Saenz’s death.
