‘In the Tall Grass’, art walk, cumbia and more things to do in Oak Cliff this weekend

The Bishop Arts Theatre Center opens “In the Tall Grass,” which tells the true story of the murder of Shade Schuler, a 22-year-old Dallas transgender woman whose body was found dumped in a field in the Dallas Medical District in July 2015. The show runs Sept. 14-24.

Dallas-based shoegaze band Wall of Orange brings its “layered, dreamy soundscapes and … pop sensibilities” to the Kessler Friday.

The free West Dallas studio tour, Art Walk West, is from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Just a heads up that the Trinity River Wind Festival has been postponed because so many of the city’s resources are focused on Hurricane Harvey recovery right now.

The Texas Theatre’s weekend lineup includes this cumbia dance party as well as screenings of “Unforgiven” and “Suspiria.”
