An Oklahoma-based developer wants to tear down an Oak Cliff church and build a retail strip.
Steven Rich of Norman, Ok. requested a zoning change for the Mountain View Church of Christ on West Illinois from residential to community retail.
The church, which was built around 1970, sits on 3 acres.
Rich, who has the property under contract, proposes building a retail strip and a restaurant without a drive-through on the site and using the church’s gym, which was built more recently, for storage.
