You could be playing Addams Family pinball and drinking a craft beer in Oak Cliff later this year.

An arcade-and-bar concept is looking to Oak Cliff for a new location. Free Play opened its first location in Richardson, offering old-school arcade video games plus a restaurant and bar, in 2015. Since then, they’ve expanded to Arlington and are planning a third location in Denton, the Dallas Observer reports.

A new location with pinball machines only is planned for our neighborhood, on Jefferson Boulevard near the Texas Theatre.

At the other Free Play locations, customers pay a flat fee, usually $10, for unlimited access to video games. The pinball concept, tentatively named Dallas Pinball Project, will have about 40 machines that will be coin or token operated.

Owner Corey Hyden explains that pinball machines require more maintenance, and he hopes that requiring users to pay-by-play will create more of a sense of respect for the machine.

“We’re hoping this is going to be the definitive pinball bar for the world,” Hyden told the Observer.

It is expected to open this year.
