The Adamson student recently transferred to DISD from Arlington, according to a source within the district who declined to be identified. He was planning to fight a group of kids, and he’d asked his friends from Arlington to back him up, according to the source.

The shooting happened at about 9:30 a.m., and the lockdown on Adamson and nearby Hector P. Garcia Middle School were lifted by about 11 a.m.

No suspect has been arrested.
