The trauma center, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2014, comprises 248,000 square feet and will expand the hospital’s emergency department tenfold. It will have 58 emergency room beds, six trauma suites, eight surgical suites and a 36-bed critical care unit.

The tower will open with six stories, but if the hospital wants to expand in the future, they could build five more stories on top of that.
