“Ramses Silver King” by Jose Vargas
Oak Cliff’s own Jose Vargas put together “Lucha Libre 2020,” a group show at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center that explores the world of Mexican professional wrestling.
The show opens with a reception from 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. The show is free and runs through Feb. 14.
There are 25 artists in the show.
Next weekend, Saturday, Jan. 18, Waco-based artist RocÃo Ramirez will offer a luchador mask-making workshop. Ramirez oversaw all of he masks that were created for the 2006 Jack Black movie “Nacho Libre.” Besides the workshop, she will share stories from her time working on that film.
