The Circuit Trail Conservancy, a nonprofit planning and fundraising for The Loop, began a first portion of the plan today with groundbreaking on the Trinity Forest Spine Trail.

The Loop will connect Dallas with a city-wide bike and pedestrian transportation system. It will include 39 miles of existing trails and 11 miles of newly constructed trails.

City leaders including Mayor Eric Johnson, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins and Park Board President Calvert Collins Bratton are meeting today to celebrate the beginning of the Trinity Forest Spine Trail construction. The first phase of the trail will connect the Santa Fe Trail north of the Tenison Park Golf Course to Samuell Boulevard, just north of I-30.
