Journalists, real estate developer to speak at upcoming Lions Club meetings

The Oak Cliff Lions Club announced its schedule for August and September. And the lineup includes several prominent local journalists and the developer of Sylvan | Thirty.

All the meetings are from noon-1 p.m. in the Weiss Building at Methodist hospital. They are open to the public, and lunch costs $8.50, but you don’t have to buy lunch to enjoy the speakers.

Here’s the lineup:

Wed. Aug. 17, Don Newbury, journalist and noted Texas humorist
Aug. 24, Jay Gormley, CBS 11 reporter since 1989
Sept. 14, Brent Jackson of Oaxaca Interests, developer of the Sylvan | Thirty project
Sept. 21, Roger Emrich of ESPN Radio, who is the new in-stadium announcer for the Dallas Cowboys
