Robbery victim shot in Bishop Arts District

A 47-year-old Uptown resident parked his car in the 400 block of Madison about 8 p.m. Friday, when a man wearing a mask pointed a gun at him, according to a police report.

The victim started running when the would-be robber demanded his wallet. The victim told police the robber shouted an epithet and then shot him.

The victim was taken to Methodist hospital with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

So far, there is no suspect in the case, says Dallas Police Department spokesman Kevin Janse. Police are working to locate possible witnesses and video surveillance footage that could identify the shooter.
