This weekend: Art, Oz, open house

Art Conspiracy’s fundraiser, RZN8, is from 7 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Aug. 25 at Life in Deep Ellum. Datahowler, Home By Hovercraft, Kirby Brown and Spookeasy perform. Tickets cost $10. Proceeds from the event pay for Art Conspiracy’s big shindig in November.

The Texas Theatre screens a 35-mm print of “The Wizard of Oz” this weekend. But it’s so much more than that. At 9:30 p.m. Friday, they are doing that thing where you play Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” along with the movie. And on Saturday, Barbara’s Pavilion is hosting a pre party, starting at 7 p.m., with Wizard of Oz-inspired drinks and a ruby slipper contest. After the movie Saturday, the Texas hosts a dance party inspired by “The Wiz.”

An open house for the new Adamson High School is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.
