Cyclesomatic is kind of amazing. It’s a month of bicycle-related events, and almost all of them are free. The PhotoVelo scavenger hunt last weekend, for example, had no entry fee and included prizes galore from Oak Cliff businesses and tickets to events in the ‘hood.

The entire thing is produced by volunteers from Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, and they need your help with a couple of upcoming events.

I Bike Rosemont, a week-long event that encourages elementary school students to ride their bikes to school, started Monday. BFOC needs enthusiastic neighbors to get out and support the kids from 7-8 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Cheer, wave, bring noise makers and let the kids know you see them.

The Spooky Cross Race and Halloween Bicycle Festival is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Rosemont lower campus. Volunteers are needed to help set up, handle vendor check-ins, make signs, help with games and help clean up.

For more information on either of these events, contact Jonathan Braddick, jbraddick@gmail.com.
