A disc golf tournament is coming to Oak Cliff Sept. 20 as part of the 100-year anniversary of Lake Cliff as a city park.
The Oak Cliff Disc Golf Club designed a 12-hole course at Heritage Park, the green space behind Grand Bank, and is staging the course for a tournament that is open to anyone for $10. There are categories of play for experts, Oak Cliff locals and kids, with prizes for low scorers in each of the categories.
Players must have their own discs, which cost about $15 each and will be available for sale at the tournament, which is sponsored by Go Oak Cliff, Eno’s and the Kessler Theater.
Oddfellows will offer a beer garden and snacks. Add a round of disc golf to the Lake Cliff Park Centennial Celebration, and it’s almost like 1906 all over again.
