Restaurant talk: Coffee beer, Turkey Day

If you haven’t tried Deep Ellum Brewing Co.’s Oak Cliff Coffee Ale, what are you waiting for? It is delicious.

Norma’s Cafe celebrates Thanksgiving by working for others — they are expected to serve hundreds of free meals to anyone who wants one. The 26th annual Norma’s Thanksgiving is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The menu is turkey and dressing with giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, English peas, salad, rolls, fruit and dessert.

Smoke and Chicken Scratch announced their Thanksgiving meal pricing. It costs $250 for all of the below, or these a la carte prices:

2 lb. Smoked Turkey $85
12-15 lb. Smoked Ham $100
1 qt. Mushroom & Marjoram Gravy $20
1 qt. Fresh Cranberry & Orange Relish $15
½ pan Stewed Collard Green w/ Honey & Guajillo Chile (Feeds 12+) $20
½ pan Sage Cornbread & Andouille Sausage Stuffing (Feeds 12+) $20
1 Dozen Buttermilk Biscuits

You know who also has smoked turkeys? Lockhart Smokehouse. Thanksgiving is next Thursday. I would get my order in now.
