Work could begin this month on a trail along Rugged Drive, connecting Kiest Park to Elmwood.
The Elmwood Parkway trail improvements, which will cost $619,781 and be paid from 2012 bond funds, will run from Perryton Drive to Elmwood Boulevard.
The 8-foot-wide concrete trail also will include a 50-foot bridge over a creek in Elmwood. There is already a trail leading south of Kiest Park to Five Mile Creek.
The Elmwood Parkway trail could be completed in February.
