Trail to connect Kiest Park to Elmwood

Work could begin this month on a trail along Rugged Drive, connecting Kiest Park to Elmwood.

The Elmwood Parkway trail improvements, which will cost $619,781 and be paid from 2012 bond funds, will run from Perryton Drive to Elmwood Boulevard.

The 8-foot-wide concrete trail also will include a 50-foot bridge over a creek in Elmwood. There is already a trail leading south of Kiest Park to Five Mile Creek.

The Elmwood Parkway trail could be completed in February.

What happened to the dog park that was already funded for Elmwood?

Elmwood is a fantastic neighborhood, and this will only make it even more desirable. Now, if only there could be a dog park in the ginormous space we have in Keist Park, that would be great.
