Look for the July issue of the Oak Cliff Advocate, which is being delivered this week, for a map of some of the most interesting historical locations in Oak Cliff and West Dallas.
The story includes a little background on the Portland Cement Co.’s company town, known as Cement City and Cemento Grande.
Neighbor Joel Denton of the upstart Oak Cliff Brewing Co. sent us this photo of Cement City workers in 1928. It was taken by Dallas photographer Frank Rogers.
Denton says his cousin found the picture while cleaning out her grandmother’s house in Cockrell Hill.
