Three Dallas chefs made the list of semifinalists for the James Beard Foundation Award best chef in the Southwest.

Among them is chef David Uygur of Lucia, who lives in Oak Cliff and also owns Macellaio.

A James Beard award is one of the highest honors an American chef can receive, and it is likened to the Oscars of the culinary world.

Other Dallas chefs making the list of semifinalists are Misti Norris of Petra and the Beast and Bruno Davaillon of Bullion.
