Summer is supposed to be a fun time to spend going out and enjoying the weather, but for Texans it also means endless heat. From putting all the toppings you want on a Popsicle to trying a black margarita with sugar rock candy, these are the best of Oak Cliff spots this summer.
1. Picole Pops
Picole Pops’ famous “Fillings Matter” background makes everyone take out their phones and snap pictures. This minimal shop offers various flavors of pops ranging from milky to fruity. Try the watermelon popsicle with a little chamoy to add some spice.
2. El Bolero
El Bolero is a Mexican cocina focused on the most diverse regions in Mexico. The fresh ingredients, authentic cuisine, and floral decor shows their effort to immerse their guests into Mexican culture. Plus, Taco Tuesday means $2 tacos.
3. Whisk Crepes Cafe
Who doesn’t love crepes? Whisk Crepes is a French Cafe where you can make your own crepes or pick from chef’s choice savory or sweet crepes. For all my patio brunch lovers, this is the perfect place for you.
Nova is a gastropub in the northern area of Oak Cliff, it has a wide variety of options from fried frog legs to veggie enchiladas. Sip tequila mojitos and Chardonnay in a relaxing atmosphere of rustic and modern decor.
5. Eno’s Pizza Tavern
Taking out a day of your summer for Eno’s Pizza Tavern with family and friends is a choice you will not regret. The pizza from Eno’s is a bit expensive but it is definitely worth it. The customer service and decor are also two big reasons why Eno’s Pizza Tavern is a favorite.
6. Emporium Pies
Emporium Pies has several locations in the metroplex, including one in Bishop Arts District. Their handmade, all natural pies range from classics like bourbon pecan pies to the seasonal tart and sweet peach with raspberry cream pie.
