Chijmes boutique hotel and event center will close Oct. 12 after a little over a year in business.
Andra Maldovan, a designer who owns Keaton Interiors, opened Chijmes last year in the former Trinity Presbyterian Church on Zang.
She had planned to open the business with her son, Keaton Newsom, but he took his own life just months before it opened.
Maldovan announced the closing on the Chijmes website, saying that the building was sold to a new owner and their lease had been terminated.
