“I am honored to be selected to lead this innovative institution to its next chapter,” Mendoza said. “Cristo Rey Dallas provides a transformational experience for high school students seeking to create new opportunities and an unbounded future.”

Cristo Rey Dallas describes itself in the release as “an innovative model of education that provides students a Catholic, college-preparatory education while earning work experience in a corporate setting.”

Mendoza has held a variety of positions throughout his 30-year career prior to his appointment as Cristo Rey Dallas president. Currently, he serves as an executive officer for the City of Dallas as the Head of Strategy in the City Manager’s office.

“Highly regarded as a skilled leader and champion for building community, Mendoza’s personal and professional experience aligns perfectly with the mission of the school,” Richard Joyner, chairman of the Cristo Rey Dallas board of directors, said. “He offers a deep knowledge of Pleasant Grove and the surrounding communities from his work with the City of Dallas. We believe he’s exactly the right person to lead the Cristo Rey Dallas community to its brightest future.”
