Yesenia Tejeda is a student in Sunset’s P-Tech program, which allows students to earn up to 60 college-credit hours, free of tuition, while enrolled in high school. She plans to pursue a teaching career and wants to become a college professor.

The four-year presidential scholarship provides financial support as well as “leadership development experiences, community service initiatives and cultural programming.” The scholars also serve as ambassadors for the university president.

Presidential scholars are chosen by panel interview and endorsed by the president of the university.
