Julio Guerrero was booked into the Dallas County jail on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No bond has been set.

Guerrero was wanted in connection with the May 2 murder of 35-year-old Francisco Villanueva Rodriguez at the Tiger Cabaret in East Dallas. He was also wanted in the shooting of a 3-year-old about a week later.

The standoff started around 10:30 a.m. when the U.S. Marshals Service attempted to execute an arrest warrant at a house in the 4500 block of Humphrey Drive. Guerrero emerged from some brush outside the home and shot at officers, authorities said. He then barricaded himself inside, where there were five small children.

Once the children were removed, Channel 11 reported that a SWAT team used a battering ram attached to a vehicle to bust open the door. Then they blew a hole in the roof and used tear gas. Guerrero surrendered at about 7 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
