Police are looking for the driver of a 2006-2008 dark-colored Sorrento LX with step rails, which hit the woman, who was walking in the crosswalk at 300 Jefferson and “dragged for a significant distance,” the Dallas Police Department says.

The driver fled the scene, heading east on Jefferson. The vehicle may have a handicap placard and a bumper sticker on the bottom left of the rear windshield.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Kenneth Watson, 214.671.0015 or kenneth.watson@dallascityhall.com, and refer to case number 231184-2021.

This was one of several pedestrian hit-and-run deaths in Dallas recently.

A man died at midnight on Jan. 1 while watching fireworks at 2600 Commerce Street in Deep Ellum. He was standing in the road when he was struck by a truck with its headlights off and driving the wrong way on Commerce.

The driver fled the scene, but the police have a clear picture of the vehicle, a 2017 Ford F150, and plate number, and they are seeking information on the crime.
