Last September, Bishop Arts District staples Chan Thai and Pho 88, which have been in the neighborhood more than 20 years, closed and promised to re-open soon,  just a block away, with improvements to the menu and the venue.

Over the weekend, the Chan Thai/Pho 88 team fulfilled that promise, opening the new dining room and patio at 436 West Davis.

In an Instagram post just before the grand re-opening, they noted, “We can’t thank you all enough! Without your support none of this is possible. Our community means the world to us and we hope you all enjoy our new place!”

(The old Chan Thai space, owned by legacy Bishop Arts developer Jim Lake Cos., is getting a new concept from the owners of Oddfellows and Reveler’s Hall). As The Advocate reported previously, the owners of Chan Thai moved because their lease at the former space was not renewed.

The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
