UPDATE: Two hospital employees have died.
One hospital employee is dead and another is injured after they were shot near a labor and delivery unit at Methodist Dallas Medical Center Saturday, KDFW reports.
A hospital police officer shot and injured the intruder, according to an employee speaking on background.
The two victims were found “near labor and delivery,” at about 11:15 a.m., WFAA reports.
That would be on the third or fourth floor of the hospital’s Schenkel Tower, which houses its two high-security labor and delivery and postpartum care units.
Access to those areas requires ringing a doorbell, where security can see you on camera, and being buzzed in, the source said.
The Dallas Police Department has not yet released information about the shooting. More on this is forthcoming.
