Celebrity sightings aren’t totally unusual in Dallas, but it isn’t everyday a critically acclaimed pop singer strolls the streets of the Bishop Arts District.

But on Sept. 19, that’s exactly what singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey did just hours before performing a show at Dos Equis Pavilion.

Del Rey, country artist Nikki Lane and other members of Del Rey’s crew shopped at Rare Heart Vintage according to the store’s Instagram account, as well as Dolly on Bishop, the Dallas Observer reported.

“The sweetest surprise having these two babes pop into the shop today!” Rare Heart Vintage owner Katie White posted on the store’s social media account.

Kasey Barron, the associate manager at Dolly on Bishop, told the Observer that it isn’t unusual for Del Rey to make stops at either Dolly Python or Dolly on Bishop when rolling through town.

White described Del Rey as soft-spoken and sweet, shopping quickly in the hours before she was set to take the stage.

Here’s what White told the Observer about the shopping spree:

Rare Heart Vintage store owner Katie White says she also knows Lane, but it was still a pleasant surprise to see them in the store.

“Nikki Lane and I know of know each other because we both sell vintage stuff and we buy from the same people,” Randle says. “I think she was like ‘let’s go check out her store.’ All the girls were running around trying stuff on. It was like a little tornado of girls running around here. It was actually kind of fun.”

Del Rey paid for the whole thing without caring about the bill.

“She hooked her friends up with boots and pants,” White says. “She got a vintage quilt and a pair of kids overalls from the 1920s. She actually asked me not to tell her the total when they checked out. She was like, ‘Don’t even tell me. I don’t want to know.'”
