Dallas ISD District 7 Monthly Updates

Two schools in Dallas ISD named National Blue Ribbon schools: Two Dallas ISD schools earned the Department of Education’s top honor – the National Blue Ribbon – this year. Those two schools were Trinity Heights TAG School and District 7’s own Rosemont Upper.

District 7 principal taught her assistant principal in third grade: Principal Marquez at our very own Louise Kahn Elementary School met her current assistant principal, Selene Ramos, when she taught her in third grade. What an amazing story illustrating the impact made and community formed in our schools.

Construction Updates:

  • Rosemont Upper campus: This week, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the new construction vendor who will complete the work at Rosemont Upper. This vendor will get started where the past vendor left off. So far, we’re exactly on schedule as discussed earlier this spring.
  • Next phase of projects: Dallas ISD is ramping up its next phase of bond projects. The District 7 schools that will begin the process over the coming months are:
    • Elementary: Leila Cowart, Lida Hooe, James Bowie, Margaret Henderson, Winnetka, and Bishop Arts STEAM Academy.
    • Secondary:E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy

Academic achievement update: For the school year ending May 2023, significant progress was made both in closing achievement gaps and relative to the state and other urban districts among our students in grades 3 through 8. We still have much work to do, but we are on the right path.
