Jowa — meaning “it’s good” or “I like it” in Korean — opened three weeks ago at 402 W. Eighth St. The store started as an online boutique out of San Antonio, and the Bishop Arts location is their first storefront.

Garments are designed and made in South Korea and curated for the store by owner Eunhwa Jung. The store only carries a limited quantity of each piece.

“We don’t want everyone looking the same,” said Jung’s husband, Brent Schriver, Wednesday afternoon.

The store carries a wide range of prices, from $20 jewelry pieces to $300 winter coats. Schriver said the quality of each piece is guaranteed.

“There’s something here for everyone,” he said.

While the store hasn’t been open long, Schriver said Bishop Arts was the perfect location to set up shop. He and Jung recently moved into our neighborhood from Uptown.

Their dog Mellie is a welcoming sales associate, albeit one that enjoys taking naps on the shop’s back rug.
