PNG’s 24-21 loss to Nederland bumped them from the first rank down to ninth. SOC defeated Seagoville 63-0 to move into the top spot.

In the shutout win, quarterback Carter Kopecky threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Levon Morton rushed for 125 yards while Jalen Moore brought in 3 receptions for 81 yards.

SOC is undefeated in district play with their two losses coming from non-district matchups early this season against two of the best teams in the state.

Next, the Golden Bears will take on the Samuell Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with South Oak Cliff sitting on six straight victories and Samuell on four.

This season, SOC is looking to head to the state championship game for the fourth year in a row. They won back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022, and fell to PNG last year.
