28.2% of small business ownership in Texas is women-owned, and Texas has the second-highest number of women-owned businesses in the country.

Globally, the rate of female entrepreneurship has been increasing more rapidly than male entrepreneurs. Over the past two decades, the number of women entrepreneurs has increased by 114%. Additionally, women of color make up 50% of all women-owned businesses.
