Girl Scouts have begun selling their famous cookies around the neighborhood and will continue until late February.
This year, cookies can be bought at an array of locations around the neighborhood including Norma’s Cafe, Zen Sushi, Spinster Records and many more.
The Girl Scouts’ website has a cookie finder by Zip Code. For a complete list of booth locations and hours in and around Oak Cliff, click here.
The Girl Scouts of the USA began selling cookies in 1917 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. In 2020, Fox Business reported that the initiative raises over $800 million dollars a year, with proceeds benefiting Girl Scouts’ programming.
According to the Girl Scouts’ website, the program helps scouts learn goal setting, money management, decision making, people skills and business ethics.
Popular flavors include Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, and the original, Trefoils. But two flavors are being discontinued after this year, so if you’re a fan of either, it might be time to stock up. Girl Scouts S’mores and Toast-Yay! cookies will both be discontinued after the 2025 season, Girl Scouts of the USA announced in a Jan. 7 press release.
