The donation drive is organized through the school’s LULAC Youth Council, where students are collecting empty ink cartridges.

Oak Cliff resident and senior Alyssa Gomez currently serves as treasurer for the council. She said that not only does the initiative help keep the environment clean, but it also provides graduating seniors of the school with support.

“The scholarships help many low-income first-generation women be able to pursue higher education,” she said in an email.

Gomez added that a target deadline for this year’s donations is May 22. If you have questions about coordinating a pick-up, reach out to alyssamgomez225@gmail.com.
