The funds will support the organization’s Adoptions Preparation Program, which serves approximately 8,000 unique animals each year, according to a press release. The program provides medical treatment, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, vaccinations, and behavioral support to help promote the health and welfare of the animals.

In 2025, 3,600 pets were adopted and more than 2,750 fostered by SPCA of Texas volunteers, according to the press release. This year, adoptions have increased by more than 22% from the last year, with the SPCA of Texas facilitating more than twice as many foster instances.

“At its core, this grant is about the animals and the people who love them,” The Dallas Foundation president and CEO Julie Diaz said in the press release. “We are confident in the SPCA of Texas’ ability to meet that need at the highest level, and we are honored to support an organization that makes our community a healthier, stronger, and more compassionate place for everyone — including the pets who share our lives.”
