A gas explosion Thursday afternoon at The Clyde apartment complex has led to three deaths and at least five individuals injured.
Dallas Fire-Rescue confirmed at a Friday afternoon press conference that all individuals have been accounted for and the search has been suspended.
At this time, The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office cannot release the names of the three victims until all next of kin have been notified, DFR Chief Justin Ball said.
Marisol Perez and her 18-month-old son, Erick, have been identified by family members as two of the victims, according to an article from FOX 4. A GoFundMe has been set up to raise money for their funeral.
District 23 Precinct Chair Sylvia Collins, who had been reported as unaccounted for via a social media post by the Dallas County Democratic Party, has been confirmed as the third victim, according to an article by NBC 5.
The National Transportation Safety Board has sent investigators to Dallas to find the cause of the fire.
“Our department and federal agencies are working together on the investigation, so we would not speculate on what we feel may have started the fire because as we know it doesn’t always end up that way,” Ball said at the press conference.
