Thirty-two football players from Oak Cliff high schools signed national letters of intent Wednesday, the first day of the regular signing period for high school athletes vying for a spot on a collegiate roster. Football players joining Division I teams will have until April 1 to sign a letter of intent, and the signing period of Division II runs through Aug. 1.
“They are special,” South Oak Cliff Head Football Coach Jason Todd said at the Golden Bears’ signing ceremony. “There’s a lot of kids not making it to this point, so it’s big for us to give these kids examples and let them know when they do accomplish things, that we’re going to celebrate the same way that people cry when bad things happen in life.”
Across Dallas ISD, 115 students participated in National Signing Day. Here are the 32 athletes across four Oak Cliff-area high schools that signed with college football squads Wednesday.
