South Oak Cliff will play Port Neches-Groves in the Class 5A Division II Region II final, which will be a rematch of the last two state championship games.

SOC won the state championship matchup 34-24 in 2022 and Port Neches-Groves got its revenge with a 20-17 win last year.

The Golden Bears are trying to win its third state title in four years and has won 11 in a row after starting the season with losses to North Shore and Duncanville. SOC has won its three playoff games by a combined score of 125-28 after beating Marshall 35-7 on Friday as Mikail Trotter ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns and the team amassed 264 rushing yards. The team also got some help from Levon Morton, who rushed for 22 yards and two touchdowns.

PNG barely held on in its regional semifinal as a blocked field goal attempt with 1:28 remaining allowed the team to hang on and beat Texarkana Texas High 31-28.

SOC will face PNG Friday at 7 p.m. at SFA’s Homer Bryce Stadium.
