A fundraiser has been set up to support the family of a 9-year-old boy who was killed while crossing the street near Felix Botello Elementary School in Oak Cliff last Thursday afternoon.
Jose Armando Garcia Ledesma died after he was hit by a truck in the 200 block of South Marsalis Avenue .An adult and two other children were also struck by the vehicle.
All four victims, including Jose and two girls ages 9 and 11, were taken to the hospital, where Jose died of his injuries. The remaining three victims were stable.
Jose, according to the fundraiser set up on Carson’s Village, was born in San Luis de La Paz, Guanajuato, to Deyaneira Ledesma Ramirez and Jose Armando Garcia Rubio. He was also a “devoted brother” to his twin sister, Keyla Deyaneira Garcia Ledesma.
“Jose found happiness in the simple things—playing soccer, splashing in water, and dancing,” the fundraiser reads. “Known for his vibrant personality, he will be remembered as an energetic dancer who always brought a smile to those around him.”
