The city’s only car-free social ride returns Saturday, May 16 starting at 8 a.m.
The Dallas Bike Ride is expecting approximately 5,000 riders cruising across the community through a 20-mile trek with rest stops, live music and photo moments. A shorter 10-mile route is also available for participants.
The map includes Dallas landmarks and neighborhoods such as Reunion Tower, the JFK Memorial, Uptown, the Bishop Arts District and the Design District. The ride ends at City Hall for the Methodist Dallas Finish Festival which will feature live music, food trucks, a beverage garden and family-friendly fun.
“Seeing thousands of riders of all ages unite last year was incredibly energizing and a true reminder of how much Dallas embraces this event,” Chris Browne, Managing Director of Dallas Bike Ride, said in a press release. “We’re excited to build on that momentum and invite the community to experience the city in a way you simply can’t on any other day of the year. From first-time riders to seasoned cyclists, Dallas Bike Ride is about coming together, celebrating our neighborhoods, and creating an inclusive, fun, and memorable experience.”
Prior to the May 16 ride, attendees are invited to participate in the Packet Pickup Part on Friday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Shed of the Dallas Farmer’s Market. The party will have entertainment, refreshments and exclusive offerings such as a free bike safety check and gear available from the Official Dallas Bike Merch Shop.
