Benefit for injured cyclist is Saturday

Misty Green of Oak Cliff was seriously injured a few weeks ago during a social bike tour in McKinney. She suffered broken bones and a fracture in her neck.

Like Dallas Torres, the cyclist injured on the Jefferson Viaduct recently, Green was wearing a helmet. Unlike Torres, Green doesn’t have health insurance, so she could use help with the hospital bills.

The cycling community is throwing a benefit party for Green from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Deep Ellum loft of Sean and Karen Kohler Fitzgerald, 2814 Canton.

Donate $10 at the door for free beer from Franconia Brewery, live entertainment and raffles for prizes from restaurant gift certificates to acupuncture services to shoes and clothing.

RSVP by email to Toni.
