“We are thrilled to bring Javier Zamora to Oak Cliff,” said Claudia Vega, founder of Whose Books and executive director of ARCO, who is co-sponsoring Zamora’s appearance. “His memoir, Solito, is profound and speaks to the journey of many in our community. This conversation can help us understand, empathize, and bridge gaps that might divide us.”

The festival also features nearly 20 other events, including the 30th Annual Dallas Poetry Slam, a book and author fair, drag story time, multilingual literary experiences and themed literary events.

“Dallas Is Lit! was conceived as a way to broaden the conversation about the literary arts in our city,” said Executive Director Aaron Glover. “The positive response we received during the first festival confirmed that our community wants to keep the conversation going, and we’re excited to help make that happen. We can’t wait to see everyone for what promises to be a dynamic week of literary activities.”

The festival is sponsored by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture and Visit Dallas, with confirmed partners and venues Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts, Texas Theatre, Whose Books, ARCO, Daisha Board Directory and The Wild Detectives.
