The folks who organize Oak Cliff Earth Day have set next year’s event for Sunday, April 18 at Lake Cliff Park. Roger Bolen, co-chair of this year’s event, mentioned that chairs are still needed for various committees such as entertainment, logistics volunteer coordinator and animal adoptions. Volunteers also are needed for assistance in public relations, sponsorship and web site maintenance.

In recent years, Oak Cliff Earth Day has been one of the largest eco-friendly Oak Cliff events, drawing crowds of up to 8,000 from both north and south of the Trinity. Next year, the festival will begin at noon and wrap up around 6. Like past years, Bolen says that the event will feature entertainment, pet adoptions, food vendors, and possibly even a farmer’s market. If you are interested in helping with Oak Cliff’s annual Earth Day festival, contact Bolen. The first committee meeting will be held on Aug. 2, 2009.
