Texan Hilary Duff, who is playing Bonnie Parker in the new Bonnie and Clyde movie, told Rachael Ray this morning that the movie is not a remake of the 1967 classic. "We’re not necessarily remaking it," she told the talk show host. "This is actually, like, the true facts and events of what happened." The old movie won two Academy Awards, but it’s much more glamorous than the true story of the murdering, bank robbers, who met in West Dallas.

Duff was responding to Faye Dunaway’s snipe that she wished they had hired "a real actress" to play the role she made famous. The new movie is expected next year.
