The WFAA-Ch. 8 investigative reporter lives in our neighborhood, and will be the featured speaker at tomorrow’s Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce food-for-thought luncheon. The chamber is billing the luncheon with the question: "What story will he reveal before we see it on the news?"

Shipp was one of the celebrity TV news reporters featured in our June cover story. In it, he described himself as "an equal opportunity offender." My favorite quote from the story came after I asked the question, "Why do you live in Oak Cliff?" His answer: "Because I grew up in Highland Park, and my mom told me, ‘I’m never going to come see you if you live in Oak Cliff.’" (Shipp says his mother has not held to her ultimatum, and does cross the river to visit her son.)
