Oak Cliff: That’s my ‘hood

We won’t post a link to DSR’s anthem for Oak Cliff because this is a family blog. But we would like to "get it understood" that the Advocate’s new Oak Cliff editor, Rachel Stone (that’s me), lives in Oak Cliff.

My roots here are deep. I attended Mountain View College before transferring to UT for journalism school. I’ve always loved to hit up thrift stores and other businesses on Jefferson. And all my fake hair comes from the wig shops in Wynnewood Village.

So I love Oak Cliff, and I am loyal to our neighborhood. Also, I want to get it off my chest that I’m ashamed of my bicycle because it’s all rusty, but I can’t afford a new one because I’m a journalist. So please, if you see me riding around on a rusty bike, be kind.
