Advocate photoset: Oak Cliff Christian Church undergoes demolition

The Dallas school district’s construction contractors started tearing down the Oak Cliff Christian Church Tuesday. The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League started fighting the demolition early this year, but DISD won. The district is using the land to build athletic facilities for the school that will replace Adamson High School.

    An incredible loss for our community. It was a good fight. I am glad that in the end more buildings will seek Historic Designation before it’s too late. A big thanks to the volunteers of occl for the tour of this tremendous structure – I appreciated seeing her bones before she fell.
