Oak Cliff resident leads ayurvedic cooking series

Certain types of food aren’t just healthy, they’re sacred. Acclaimed wellness guru and Oak Cliff resident, Elaine Dodson, will host a four-class ayurvedic cooking series, Conscious Cooking for Mind, Body and Spirit, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at Unity Church of Dallas. The cost is $40 per class and continues on Jan. 17, 24 and 31.

The series will cover how to cook and eat with fresh, organic ingredients and how certain food can nurture and heal. In class, participants can learn how to make soups, veggie dishes, rice and condiments and a full Ayurvedic meal.

Dodson wrote a cookbook, “Cooking for the Guru: A Karma-free Diet”, full of recipes and guides for eating well. We wrote about Dodson and her “goddess retreats” in the magazine about two years ago.

To make a reservation for a class, call the church at 972.233.7106 ext. 211.
