Oak Cliff scouts to take donations for wildfire fighters this weekend

Fire fighters battling the wildfires at Possum Kingdom Lake need bottled water, athletic socks, men’s T-shirts and work gloves.

Boy Scouts Troop 5 in Oak Cliff will be collecting donations for the fire fighters noon-3 p.m. Saturday and noon-1 p.m. Sunday at the “scout hut” behind Kessler Park United Methodist Church.

The troop’s summer camp, Camp Constantin, is on the north side of Possum Kingdom Lake. And Troop 5 scout Evan Pellitier’s father is one of the firemen working on the wildfires.

Past scoutmaster Eric Pearle will load the supplies onto his tow trailer and take them to Palo Pinto County next week.
