Methodist Health System Recognized as “Best Place to Work in Healthcare”

Methodist Health System has been chosen by the 2011 “Becker’s Hospital Review” as one of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

The Chicago-based publication focuses on hospital business, finance, legal advice and industry news, and the list was created through a three-month nomination process, extensive research and feedback from healthcare industry leaders on the final selection of candidates.

Methodist Health System was chosen this year because of its employee recognition programs like the “Team Care = Team Share” incentive program which rewards employees $300–$1,000 for meeting organizational goals.

I worked for Methodist for 6 years. What they dont say is the employees are forced to complete the “Best Place to Work” surveys are they are not anonymous. I made the mistake of disagreeing with some questions one year and was called in days later and raked across the coals by my boss. Then I asked another friend who was in management about the surveys and she said “Oh no! those are not confidential…” So this means nothing. Team Share is a good program but there are many things that led to my resignation from Methodist that were very disturbing.
