Oak Cliff student wins Edith Baker Art Scholarship

2011 Edith Baker Scholarship winner Michelle Reyes

El Centro College student Michelle Reyes of Oak Cliff was awarded the Dallas Art Dealers Association’s Edith Baker Art Scholarship.

Reyes received $2,500, a mentorship, an internship and an artist studio visit.

The annual DADA Gallery Walk is Saturday, Sept. 24, and it includes a look at the art history of our neighborhood, “Oak Cliff Then and Now.”

A panel discussion, “Oak Cliff Then”, is from 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center.  “Oak Cliff Now” is from 1-2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.

    I swear DADA didn’t plan for the winner to be from Oak Cliff AND for our panels to be about Oak Cliff…good old Oak Cliff serendipity again!
